Matt Trecartin, Director, Cinematographer and Editor
Over the past Ten years Matt Trecartin has been involved in various broadcast television productions.
In 1995 Matt started his career at Ocean Digital Post Production in Halifax, apprenticing and learning hands-on about the technology and techniques of filmmaking. Avid, Media 100, Final Cut Pro, After Effects and Photoshop are all software packages Matt has learned and has a keen understanding of.
In 1996 Matt became a staff editor at Ocean Digital and worked on the following:
1996 - Assistant Editor-"Minyan on the Mira.” 1 hour documentary, CBC "Man Alive"
1996 /1997 - Picture Editor - "The Resourceful Renovator.” WTN network and Life network.
1997 - Online Editor - "Oceans of Mystery.” 12 x 1 hour Discovery Channel Canada.
In late 1997 Matt left Ocean Digital to start work with Tri Media Productions on the TV series titled “The Canadians: Biographies of Nation”, hosted by Patrick Watson on History Television

In August of 2003 Matt joined Arcadia Entertainment Inc. of Halifax. Working in all aspects of development production and delivery, Matt has helped the company grow into a very successful producer of World-class programming. With many exciting projects underway and in the works, Arcadia is the perfect place for Matt to exercise his talent and feed his creative drive.

While at Arcadia in 2004 Matt worked on a 13 part Ocean series titled ‘Marine Machines’ for National Geographic International and Discovery US.
